Years have gone by, what doo people use today in a pin cabinet? Want to build again. Pinside member. North Wales, PA. VPX was released and it allows 3D models and advanced lighting to be used. The physics is improved and the whole table looks glossy and objects reflect off the playfield.
Some amazing works in progress to be released soon. A few more sites popped up with new authors like vpinball.
Now's a great time to make that 3 screen cab you've wanted to make. I'm still using the hyperpin front end but lots of people have moved onto the pinballx front-end. This isn't the VP that you used to play!
Last image, but just to show you what 2 talented guys can do with the new features in VPX. One guy modelled all of the toys from scratch. Phenominal and really fun to play. Chicago, IL. Whiouwww looks nice, does vp still have that lag from you press to flipper goes up? Having a pin collection i just couldn't adjust my gameplay to delay and niether could my pin boddies.
Has it been fixed? How about arcadepinball? Is that for cabinet also? Propper cabinet support?? Hamilton Township, NJ. To get good resolution and flipper performance on a Cabinet with a large screen you will need a beefy rig. I would advise at least a fast I5 processor,gb ram and a fast Nvidia card say a GTX series or higher.
VPX version The table releases just keep looking better all the time, very realistic. Depending on the authors tuning of the physics, some play very close to the real pin's.

That is a great write up Thalamus. I'd say credit to lucky1 for providing the Pinball Browser patched color support that VirtuaPin never got around to doing. I may be wrong but I don't think that the projects using the Pin2DMD editor call for modding or patching a rom so much as replacing frames on-the-fly from an external file.
There is only one fully coloured, completed non-stern to date that I am aware of Hmm, you probably want to edit that post. Basically trying not to step over a line by distributing hacked Stern roms. Now that Dazz has put out a utility to patch roms, we should not even really need a public or a private repository of patched color roms. It's dead easy for users to do it themselves:.
Also, TWD in that pack is just the pal file from gech. The CRC of the game code is that same as Stern's.

I have not yet heard of any colorization project for TWD. Yes, that and it is a project that uses the Pin2DMD editor so someone could learn from that project as well for colorizing non-Stern games. Really happy with how this turned out, I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did making it. Just uploaded a cheeky 1. Want to thank you guys for this really well done colourization. Everything about this table seems to be perfect now. Will be one of the tables to show off next month when I'll be alone for a month having friends over for virtual pinball competitions.

I decided in the end to keep both the original release and the Toons installed with their own wheels and backglasses. Thank you very much. Thanks a lot for the toon version, the blue playfield looks also gorgeous! And no doubt, both versions will stay as independent tables on the cab.

Viewing 10 posts - 1 through 10 of 10 total. December 8, at pm I had one of the top ranked players in the world at my arcade today to test some games, I was excited for him to try VPX because he hates virtual pinball and I thought he would really like it. I was wrong.
He liked AFM 1. But we he did like was the Phsymod 5 games, he never saw them either. Keep in mind he does not care about lighting and those little things we love so much, all he cared about was physics. Which is why I have him test games when he's over. He cannot adapt to different physics, we all can. He's spent years and years of his life practicing perfection of flippers, so not matter how many times he tries, he'll miss the ramp every single time if the physics are off.
Now people will tell me that VPX and Physmod5 use the same physics, and that's true to a degree, but it's the author's interpretation of those physics that makes the difference. I know the guy's skills all too well, and if he says AC-DC physmod5 physics feel 'correct', then they do.
And if he says some other physics are wrong, they are wrong. I'm really curious to see how he tunes his next release. We played both but I knew how he would feel about Groni's version. It doesn't feel like the ball is bounced off the flippers, it feels like it slides off the flippers almost like FP.
And again, it's not possible to do a flipper pass. He said "this is exactly what I would expect 'video pinball' as he calls it to feel like. If the flippers could be altered to perform like JP's it would be a perfect table. I tried but the numbers are completely different than anything else, and VPX is different than VP9 or physmod5 so honestly I was just guessing. I could never get it near what I wanted.
I assume the speed would need to be increased up and down and the angle would need to be altered. I feel that the VPX physics will be ironed out eventually. But right now they vary so much from game to game it's hard to pinpoint where the problem is, or if there is a problem.

There are some great scenes in this game, I am very excited by the potential! Still a very long way to go, and I hope to return to demo man before long. I won't spoil any surprises yet, but here is a small taster Yes, secretly I picked this pin in the hope that someone might feel compelled to work on a VPX version to go with it, and I have since read on "another" forum that it looks like that it may already be in the works - bring it on!
I hope I can complete this in time There are for sure a few weeks of work left yet, and Capcom released something on Friday just passed that will eat into some of my free time for a few days. It doesn't help the VP9 version i'm using clearly has something wrong with that table element and it doesn't detect when I hit the machine correctly so it just keeps on calling If you want any ideas, I have the color DMD version for my real life flintstones machine that I can record a video of.S01E64 - Top Ten Virtual Pinball Tables!
Your looks very nice, and will fill in nicely when I sell my machine. I have tried switching various scenes between the two but can't decide which I prefer! Last night I also discovered there is a whole other Waterbuffalo mode "Juggling Jeffrey" I didn't know about and it makes me suspect there could be a third I can't wait to see all your hard work.
Good luck with your colorization. But it still isn't complete I'm afraid! I know of the following scenes that are uncoloured, either through time requirements or lack of clean dumps.
There are a handful of score or status related scenes which are also uncoloured, but this is just because I'm saving them until the end to avoid using up all my masks. Just gave this a run. I can't say I have thoroughly tested it yet but it looks great so far. I haven't found anything glaringly off. Just had some rounds on the PM5 version of this table and I must say.
